Saturday, March 6
Aberdeen
Start
At
11:30 a.m.,
the cars and crews will congregate the “WorkSource Grays Harbor”
parking lot,
511 W. Heron St.
in
Aberdeen.
Cars will start leaving for the Blue Slough stages near Cosmopolis at
noon.
Blue
Slough
Stages
(Paved)
From
Aberdeen
and take
US
101 south over the bridge to Cosmopolis, continue south six miles over the
hills and turn left on highway 107.
You’ll go past the start of the stage, but there is
NO PARKING
at the start. Go 1.6
miles
east on 107 and turn left on the dirt Weyco haul road (not signed).
This access road is parallel to and above the stage road, with some
clear cut areas near mid stage.
Plan to arrive before
noon
for best viewing locations.
Cars will start this stage at
12:23
for the first run, and 1:16
for the second run, both runs will be from your left to your right.
This paved
road looks straight on the map, but it follows a crooked path, left, right,
rising and falling. If you watch both runs on this
stage you will NOT be able to reach the Pico stages before they start.
Pico
Stages
From Aberdeen head east on US 12 toward Montesano and go right on the
Devonshire Road exit. Left on Devonshire, left on Old Wa-410, at the stop
sign go almost straight across toward Wynooche Lake.
In about one-half mile, make a right turn on Clearview Drive.
(If you reach Val Vista Road, you’ve gone too far!)
Carefully follow Clearview to the stage start,
this road narrows in places because of recent mudslides.
When you
reach the stage, follow the directions of spectator marshals.
No entry to this area will be
allowed after
1 p.m..
Cars will start the stage at
1:59 p.m. and
come downhill from your left and slide through a sharp
left turn in front of you. The cars run this stage
in the reverse direction
starting at
3:22 p.m.
Remember to dress warmly, pack your rain gear, food and water.
There are no grandstands or concessions in
the forest. Once you enter, you will not be able to leave this area until
after 4 p.m.
Montesano Service
The rally cars make two half-hour services stops in Montesano during the
afternoon. You’ll see crews making repairs on the cars, changing tires and
refueling cars and drivers. Service will be held in the Vessey Construction
lot,
22 Vessey Lane, off Country Farm Road,
just south of the
Devonshire Road
intersection at US 12. This is a great time to meet the drivers and see the
cars up close.
Sunday, March 7
Aberdeen
Start
At
7:30 a.m.,
the cars and crews will congregate the “WorkSource Grays Harbor”
parking lot,
511 W. Heron St.
in
Aberdeen.
Cars will start leaving for the racing stages at 8 a.m.
Brooklyn Stages
From
Aberdeen
you can reach the west end of the
Oakville-Brooklyn Road by going south on Hwy 101. After you pass Artic, cross over the North
River bridge, slow and
turn left onto the
North River Rd.
Drive
20 twisty miles, until you reach the stage.
Follow directions of the spectator marshals, drive two miles to spectator area.
Be
in place by 8:20 a.m. Rally cars start at 9:23
running east to west.
You will not be
allowed to leave this stage until all rally cars and sweep
vehicles have passed. Please dress for the weather,
bring your rain gear, food and water.
The cars will return to this stage later in the day,
running west to east at 2:28 p.m., please
be in place by 1:30 p.m. for the second run.
Port
Blakely Tree Farms has given the Doo Wop Rally permission to use this
spectator area with the following stipulations:
-
No open fires, only contained
barbeque grills are permitted.
-
Do not drive any motorized vehicle (ATV, motorcycle, SUV, pickup) off of
the established roads.
-
Do not dump used charcoal or any remains from barbeques.
-
Do not litter. Please help police yourself and others.
We need the timber
company’s help and support for rally. Please treat their land with
respect and follow their rules.

South Bend Service
The rally cars make three half-hour services stops in
South Bend
during the day. You’ll see crews making repairs on the cars, changing tires
and refueling cars and drivers. Service will be held in the lot, one block
from US 101 on Willapa Ave. just across from Pioneer Grocery. Bring the kids
to meet the drivers and see the cars up close.
Palix
Road Stages
From
South Bend
go south on Highway 101 for 10 miles.
Cross over the Niawaiakum River and slow for a left turn on South Bend Palix
Road. This turn is around a curve, just past milepost 43, before you get to
the
Bay Center Junction. Proceed up hill on South Bend Palix Road, cross over the bridge to the gravel road. Follow directions of the spectator marshals
and drive
up the stage
to the spectator area.
Enter this stage before 10:30
a.m. don't be late and don't block the road to the stage.
Cars will race down this road starting at
11:29, a second run starts at
12:52.
Please dress for a day in the
woods, bring your rain gear with plenty of food and water. You will not be
allowed to leave this stage until all rally cars and sweep
vehicles have passed.
Volunteer to help at the rally. Rally
workers have the best seats in the house!
